Free Workforce Development Workshops at Northwestern State — open to the community, no cost, high school diploma is the only requirement.

Workshop 1: Statistical Quality Control
Friday and Saturday, October 2–3, 2026, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Instructor: Dr. Nabin Sapkota, Professor of Industrial Engineering Technology
Quality principles, basic tools, understanding process variation, building and interpreting control charts, process capability, and applying these tools to real-world problems.

Workshop 2: Managing Projects — Structure That Still Flexes
Thursday and Friday, October 8–9, 2026, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Instructor: Craig R. Caskey, MS, PMP, Lab Coordinator of Engineering Technology
If you already run kaizen events and PDCA cycles, this workshop applies that same thinking to project work phase by phase, from initiating through closing. Day 1 covers the planning tools, control methods, and how to build check-and-adjust cycles into ex*****on. Day 2 is hands-on with your own process. Attend both days or join us on Day 2 if your process is already defined.

Cost: Free
Lunch and a certificate of attendance are provided.
