🎶 Feature Friday: Meet Bryant Simmons! 🎶

This week, we’re excited to spotlight Bryant, a first-year graduate student in the NSU Horn Studio from Bridge City, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance from McNeese State University and is already making an impact across campus.

Bryant performs with the Wind Ensemble, the Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony, Orpheus Tenor-Bass Choir, and Horn Choir showcasing his versatility as both an instrumentalist and vocalist. What he enjoys most about his time at NSU is the strong sense of community and the diverse musicianship that surrounds him every day.

A memorable highlight of his musical journey includes performing on the Star of Texas Ambassadors of Music European tour in the summer of 2019—a truly unforgettable experience.

When he’s not making music, Bryant is a big fan of corgis, posting all over social media admiring these adorable creatures!

We’re so excited to have Bryant in the studio! Welcome to NSU!

Feature Friday: Meet Alison Choate ! 📯

Allie is a Music Education major from Shreveport, LA and is actively involved across campus in Spirit of Northwestern, Fredricks and Magale Concert Band, Horn Choir and Cane River Singers. Her musical journey includes achievements in Honor Band and Solo and Ensemble competitions.

Allie is originally a flute player who made the switch to horn during her sophomore year of high school—talk about dedication to learning something new!

When asked what stands out most about NSU, Alison shared: "How everyone is so welcoming."

Feature Friday: Meet Hannah Bell! 📯

Hannah is a freshman Music Education major from DeRidder, LA. She's already making her mark at NSU, performing with Spirit of Northwestern, Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Horn Choir, and Woodwind Quintet.

Before coming to NSU, Hannah was a three-time LMEA All-Stater.

When asked what is her favorite part of NSU, she said, "How personable all of the staff is. It's a bigger university that still feels small and connected."

Hannah joined the Horn Studio this past fall, and we are so excited to have her as part of the NSU family!
