NSU Campuses Closed Monday Due to Anticipated Winter Weather

Due to anticipated winter storm conditions and in coordination with guidance from the National Weather Service and local officials, all Northwestern State University campuses will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026.

Residence halls will remain open for students who choose to stay on campus, and dining services will operate on a modified schedule. Students should follow university safety protocols and monitor official dining services social media accounts for updates. The Food Pantry will be open Friday from 8–10 a.m. to support students in need.

The university will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as they evolve. Please follow NSU’s official communication channels for the latest information.

☔️ WEATHER UPDATE: Due to the anticipated impacts of Tropical Storm Francine, all campuses of Northwestern State University will close on Wednesday, September 11. Normal operations are expected to resume on Thursday, September 12.

Residence halls will remain open, and dining services will continue with a modified schedule. Additional details about dining services will be communicated directly to residential students.

We understand that many of our students come from regions in South and Central Louisiana that may be directly impacted by the storm. Please know that the safety of our students is our top priority.

Essential personnel will be on campus as needed to ensure the safety and security of our community. All scheduled events for Wednesday will be rescheduled, with further updates to follow.

ITS is currently experiencing an issue at our data center that is resulting in a number of services offline. ITS is working with our service providers to restore services. No current ETA on service restoration.

Today's IT System Maintenance is now complete. All systems are online and available.

myNSU/Moodle, NSU Connect, NSU Mobile, and myStatus became available at 11:10am.

Banner, ARGOS, and their related systems were fully returned to service at 1:30pm.
