According to the Yuga cycles of time and the Vedic texts, we are in the midst of a 30-year “re-set” from 2020 to 2050—a time when things may rapidly fall apart in order to build a newer, better world. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong with the world, here are seven things that can help uplift us and give us hope for a better world.

For many weeks, since the onset of the Middle East War, I have been hesitant to write anything. Every day brings seemingly awful news, bombing and killing, the world doing backflips, and news stories you don’t even know if they are true.

Twelve artists present their work at the Lotus Building Art Gallery in downtown Ananda Village, near Master’s Market and the village square, 12 miles from Nevada City, CA. The gallery is open from 11:30 to 4:30 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only from April 3rd through Mother’s Day on May 10th during the annual tulip festival and Springtime at Ananda.

The month of Kartika is considered to be the holiest month in the Hindu lunar calendar. Kartika Purnima is also known as “Tripurari Purnima” as it commemorates the victory of Lord Shiva over the three demons known as Tripurasuras. If the purnima occurs on kartika nakshatram it is considered to be even more sacred and is known as Maha Kartika. The day of Kartika Purnima is so auspicious that any religious activity done on this day gives manifold benefits.

Five residents who lived here at the time saw the alien craft in three different parts of the village—at the Crystal Hermitage, near a housing cluster called Villa Gioia, and near the Sundance housing cluster. Dr. Jenny Kellogg, award-winning author, Akashic Records Reader, astrologer and spiritual guide. Jenny is both an astrologer and spiritual coach, helping clients navigate change, find meaning in their lives, and reconnect to their authentic selves. She is a Kriyaban and disciple of Yogananda since 2013. She is also a literary translator from Modern Greek and in 2024 won the Elizabeth Constantinides Memorial Translation Prize for “Book of Exercises II”, her brilliant translation of the Greek poet George Stefaris.

DAVID (BYASA) STEINMETZ
David (Byasa) Steinmetz is an expert in the Yuga Cycles of Time and is co-author of The Yugas, Keys to Understanding our Hidden Past, Emerging Present and Future Enlightenment. He has been on the faculty of Ananda College since the beginning, and has been a Kriya Yogi for over four decades. His background as a scientist and astronomer and his knowledge of history and ancient cultures offers a rare opportunity to learn from this brilliant soul. Byasa will talk about his ongoing research and predictions based on using Sri Yukteswar’s Yuga Cycles of Time calculations.

Do you ever feel like our planet may be going backward instead of forward?

Just as a bicycle may momentarily rest in neutral as the cyclist changes to a faster speed, so we humans may feel incoherent energy as the universal consciousness shifts into a higher realm.

The great Vedic rishis of India talk about vast cycles of time that have existed on our planet and throughout the universe. One complete cycle of eight distinct ages or yugas lasts 24,000 years, 12,000 years of ascending energy, followed by 12,000 years of descending energy. According to the great rishi Swami Sri Yukteswar, author of The Holy Science, we are currently in the beginning of Ascending Dwapara Yuga or the Bronze Age as known in ancient Greece—now the upward flowing energy of consciousness is affecting our planet.

During the seemingly long transition time from one ascending yuga to the next, we may experience a wobble as our consciousness adjusts to new ideas and ways of being. The rishis tell us that these wobbles are a natural manifestation of change.

We experience these wobbles in history and if we are able to do so, we could look backwards (and forwards) to see that however long it may take, history does repeat itself. It’s just that it’s different in every yuga, and every huge cycle of time.

Once, many years ago I witnessed a healing that’s taken half a lifetime to understand.

I was quite young, perhaps only six. My mother, raised by a Christian Scientist grandmother, led intense and moving prayers for the legs of my five-year-old brother. He had been diagnosed with a disease that would prevent him from ever walking.

Our family couldn’t afford expensive hospitalization, so my mother used her strong will and focused mind to magnetize a healing. For many years my little brother used braces, crutches and a wheelchair to get around. Sometimes my older brothers carried him on their shoulders.
