Dr. Alessandra Link will visit our campus next Monday, November 17th to give a talk about her exciting new book, The Iron Horse in Indian Country: Native Americans and Railroads in the U.S. Her project received a Mellon / ALCS Dissertation Completion fellowship in its earlier stages and has been extremely well received since its release.

Dr. Link's talk will take place in Crestview Hall room 211, on Monday the 17th from 12:20-1:10PM.

I want to invite you to a special, invited talk this Wed. by Dr. Edward E. Curtis IV of Indiana University, Indianapolis.
Topic: The Long History of Arab Americans in Indiana
Date and Time: Wednesday, November 12, from 12:20 to 1:05 pm.
Location: Crestview 111
About: Dr. Curtis is the William M. and Gail M. Plater Chair of the Liberal Arts and Professor of World Languages & Cultures at the Indiana University School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis, where he also directs the Arabic and Islamic studies minor. Raised in Southern Illinois, where his Syrian-Lebanese family settled in the late 1800s, Dr. Curtis also lived in Evansville during his teenage years and has made Indianapolis his home since 2005. An award-winning author, Dr. Curtis has written or edited a total of fourteen books about Africana religions, Islam, Arab American history, and Muslim American studies.
