The Chief of Staff of the United States Army, Gen. Mark A. Milley, commissioned 17 Rutgers grads from the Army ROTC Scarlet Knight Battalion today. The general commended the grads for their hard work, courage, and dedication and provided words of advice as they move forward into their new roles. The newly commissioned officers were also recognized by Chancellor Molloy and LTC Kevin W. Siegrist and participated in the pinning of rank and rendering of first salutes traditions. Congratulations to all the commissioned students. We wish you the best of luck always and thank you for your service.

Today we celebrate six Rutgers grads who were commissioned as Ensigns in the Navy or Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps through the Rutgers Naval ROTC Unit. The students were recognized by their commanding officer, U.S. Navy Capt. Andrew F. Smith, U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker, and the Vice Chancellor of Undergraduate Academic Affairs Ben Sifuentes-Jáuregui at the ceremony this morning. We are so proud of the hard work, perseverance, and leadership skills that these students have demonstrated throughout their time at Rutgers and wish them luck, safety, and success in all future endeavors.
