This week, the inspection team sampled outfalls throughout Middlesex County to investigate potential illicit discharge. An illicit discharge is any non stormwater flow entering the storm sewer system, such as sewage, chemicals, or other pollutants. To help identify contamination we measured indicators including temperature, flow rate, and collected water samples for lab analysis.
