Chi Psi Rutgers

Chi Psi Rutgers Alpha Rho of Chi Psi Fraternity at Rutgers University is one of 29 Alphas (or chapters) of the first Social Fraternity, founded on May 20th 1841.

Our history, and devotion to brotherhood, defines our experience as Chi Psi's. Alpha Rho of Chi Psi has been pledging gentlemen and scholars since 1879 and we consider recruitment to be one of the most important of all our activities. The continuation of the chapter’s ideals relies upon the next set of young men who will be brothers of Alpha Rho. The relatively smaller size of our Alphas lends its

elf to an extremely close Brotherhood and life-long friendships. The Brothers of Chi Psi take pride in, and support, the diversity of our members: their backgrounds, beliefs, extracurricular involvement and their fields of academic study. Our Brotherhood is selective and thus excels in academics, leadership, philanthropy and social life. Our recruitment process holds very high standards and is looking for only the best Rutgers University undergraduate men. A Chi Psi gentleman is distinguished in virtually all aspects of life. He is a man of great integrity, honesty and loyalty. Active Men and leaders on Campus interested in joining our bonds of brotherhood must have at least a 2.75 GPA in order to receive a bid. Once a member you are expected to maintain a high academic achievement, participate in the Greek community both within and outside of Chi Psi as we work as a Fraternity to make your interests our interests.

Alpha Rho Senior Spotlight: Filipe Feiteiro

Meet our last and final senior, , a Biological Sciences major and member of the Spring ’23 pledge class who made a lasting impact on Alpha Rho as our Philanthropy Chair.

Some of Fil’s favorite memories came from traveling through Europe with the boys, along with the simpler moments around the Lodge - like YouTube watch parties featuring Outdoor Boys and endless food videos.

For Filipe, Chi Psi helped shape him into the person he is today. “This fraternity has formed me into a gentleman and has given me friends and memories that will last a lifetime. It taught me a work hard, play hard mentality that I’ll carry with me forever.”

Outside of the Lodge, Filipe stayed active through Keller sports and intramural soccer while also working as a Patient Care Technician at Saint Peter’s Hospital. One of the accomplishments he’s most proud of was his work as Philanthropy Chair, where he personally raised $2,773 while helping Alpha Rho raise over $44,000 as a chapter. He also takes pride in serving the community through volunteer and service events throughout college.

After graduation, Filipe will be attending the Rutgers Physician Assistant Program, continuing his path toward a career in healthcare. Looking ahead, he’s most excited to spend time with friends and family, travel, watch the World Cup, and continue growing into the best provider he can be. When he’s not studying or working, you can find Filipe running, playing soccer, snowboarding, playing pickleball, relaxing at the beach, or hanging out with friends and family.

Fun fact: Filipe is part Portuguese and Korean.

This class has been instrumental in shaping Alpha Rho into what it is today, and we are endlessly grateful for everything they’ve contributed. We will miss each and every one of them, and on behalf of our Alpha, we wish them nothing but the best in whatever comes next. Congratulations brothers, and thank you for everything.

Alpha Rho Senior Spotlight: Emmett Ryan

Meet , a Finance major with a minor in Economics and a proud member of the Spring ’23 pledge class. During his time at Alpha Rho, Emmett served as both Treasurer and Fantasy Football Chair, two positions that definitely required equal levels of dedication.

Some of his favorite memories came from traveling with the boys, especially spring break trips to Cancun and Europe - experiences and stories that will probably live on forever around the Lodge.

Outside of Chi Psi, Emmett worked as a swim instructor at CAG, was involved in Road to Wall Street, and competed in intramural soccer. When asked about his proudest accomplishments, he mentioned either destroying Dollir in Fortnite box fights or winning the 3v3 basketball tournament alongside Ishan, Cassese, and JD.

For Emmett, Chi Psi has been about making lifelong memories with the people around him and always having the boys nearby for whatever comes next.

After graduation, he plans to spend the summer traveling before beginning work in the city in the fall. He also intends on pursuing an MBA from Rutgers shortly after.

What’s he most excited for post-grad? Having a little more money in his pocket. When he’s not working or traveling, you can find Emmett getting food with the boys, watching the Knicks “win it all,” or asking Claude the most random questions imaginable.

Fun fact: Emmett is going to watch Brazil play at the Linc during a World Cup group stage game this June.

Alpha Rho Senior Spotlight: Aidan Maher

If there’s a bool happening, .maher3 is already there. A Psychology major with minors in Cognitive Science, Business Administration, and Disability Studies, Aidan joined Chi Psi in Spring ’23 and quickly became one of the most involved brothers in the Lodge. Serving as Intramural, Philanthropy, Steward, and Brotherhood Chair, he’s been at the center of countless events and traditions.

His favorite memories? Pretty much anything involving the boys, Turkey Bowls, CAG hoops runs, Pete & Elda’s trips, and of course… extra bowling. As he puts it, when there’s a bool, his radar goes off and he makes it better.

Aidan takes the most pride in creating experiences for others. From organizing brotherhood events like the Turkey Bowl and 3v3 tournaments to seeing the entire Lodge come together and enjoy the moment, nothing meant more than making sure his brothers had a great time. Outside of Chi Psi, he’s had a meaningful impact working with children and adolescents through internships at the Rutgers Developmental Disabilities Center and Rutgers Behavioral Health Care Day School, as well as roles in school programs and substitute teaching.

After graduation, Aidan will be pursuing his PsyD at Rutgers, continuing his passion for helping kids and making a positive impact. He’s most excited to start this next chapter while continuing to build lifelong memories with his brothers. Because being boys doesn’t end after college.

When he’s not at the Lodge, you can find Aidan in the gym, hooping, watching sports, dropping ball knowledge, or, of course, extra bowling.

Fun fact: Aidan has an elite bag of random NBA role players. Seriously, go name for name with him if you think you can.
