We have not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 players on USNTDA and in about a month they will be traveling to Richmond for the world cup 😎

Consider helping them out by purchasing their replica jerseys (they each have 5 so there's 20 up for grabs)! Support a Player ends TONIGHT so act quick.

If that's a little too much - you can also get some cool merch from the team shop!

A half decade ago, it would have been nearly impossible to imagine a Rutgers University team sitting here, amongst the upper echelon of the college game and poised to win it all this weekend at US Quadball Cup. Our next scouting report is about the No. 3 Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers University Quadball has just won our first regional championships!!!

Just this past weekend, Rutgers University Quadball traveled up North to Boston to compete at the first Northeast Regionals Conference (NERC) to be held since pre-covid times.

On day 1 we went 4-0.
On day 2, we placed first in our pool.
Not only did we manage to secure a bid to nationals, but we also advanced straight into the semis.
After a great game against Brandeis Quidditch, we went head to head with Harvard Horntails and after a hard fought game, we managed to come up on top.

Rutgers Quadball has never before won a regionals and we are beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to compete at NERC!
We're so proud of each and every single one of our players that contributed to this win and the coaches for helping us every step of the way.

Quadball, watch out for us.

With love,
RUQ

Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! We are celebrating by highlighting some of our athletes. We’re excited to introduce you to one of our newest Titans: Annika Kim.

"I am absolutely ECSTATIC for this season. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone, competing at such a high level against the top talent in the country and learning from my amazing coaches and teammates. I’m also hoping to carry over everything I learn to help Rutgers University Quidditch next season," she said.

And what does mean to Kim?

β€œTo me, it’s simple. It’s recognizing, embracing, and respecting the AAPI community and the diversity of cultures that culminate it," she said.

Watch Kim and the rest of the Titans take the pitch on Major League Quidditch Opening Weekend. Tickets available now: bit.ly/3PG2D8j

Nationals in Salt Lake City was truly something else.
Where do we begin....

This bright, young, and enthusiastic team has grown so much from the first practice we ever held. We went from struggling to grip a quaffle and not knowing what the hell we were doing (frankly, we still sorta don't πŸ™„ but who does) to going 3-0 on day 1, qualifying for bracket play, and making it to the Elite 8. Oh, and we caught the snitch in every.single.game. 😎

There was a time when this program had a record of 1-14 and only made it to nationals because 16 teams declined their bids. There was also the RUQ era (iykyk). That was rough. Then, covid hit and put a pause on quidditch nationwide, stripping players of their opportunity to grow. Right before covid, we were able to recruit an extremely talented class and luckily, they decided to stick around. Coming back from covid, we managed to recruit yet another talented class and this weekend, we were able to make program history. For essentially everybody on the team, this was our very first nationals and we balled out 😎 So, thank you US Quidditch for holding such an amazing event and giving our players the opportunity to compete at such a high level. We had a great time!

We are so thankful for our coaches Tess Kowalski, Naresh Edala, and Isaac Serna (someone tag this man it won't let me tag him 😭) for giving us their time, energy, and constant support. Thank you for staying until past 11 PM to practice with us, buying us pizza to watch film πŸ™„, giving us rides, and every little thing you guys have done for us. Without you guys, we wouldn't have gained half the experience we have and our family just wouldn't be complete.

To Skyline, our club team, and every single club player from our area that came out to our practices, we love all of you guys ❀️ Thank you for coming out to watch our games, cheering for us on the sidelines, and practicing with us even tho we're noobs πŸ₯Ί Hopefully, we'll gain some more experience and be able to play with you guys and make your team even more cracked than it is right now πŸ’ͺ

Although this season is over, we are so excited to watch this team, composed of young and extremely talented players, continue to grow both on and off the pitch.

With that being said, watch out nationals 2023 - we're gunning for that championship πŸ†
