Join the Graduate Student Assembly on November 11 for a relaxing wine and cheese night at the Fall 2021 Relax and Chill event at the McDougal Center Courtyard. Relax and Chill is a community-building, social event that will foster relationships and friendships between graduate students across different departments. Relieve the stressors of the semester with individual cheese plates, a selection of red and white wines, and great music. All food will be individually packaged and participants still must wear their masks and show physical ID indicating they are 21+ years old. We will hold two sessions. The first session will take place from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The second session will occur from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Please sign up for one session.

Our friends at Yale's Title IX Office and the Title IX Student Advisory Boards invite you to the Title IX and Mental Wellness Symposium! This symposium will explore the intersection of experiences of gender-based discrimination and sexual misconduct with mental wellbeing, with a particular focus on the impact of sexual misconduct and gender discrimination on the emotional wellbeing and mental wellness of those who are members of marginalized identities, including racial or ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ persons, and/or persons identifying as having a disability. During this event, we will seek to define important terms and parameters, dive into cutting edge research, and brainstorm how Yale and individual community members can best support underserved populations who experience sexual misconduct and gender discrimination. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Grad Students w/ Disabilities survey. We had 80(!) responses. We drew three winners from the participation pool: Congratulations Emily Condiff (Immunobiology) and two others who wish to remain anonymous; you know who you are! With all these responses, we’ll be able to put together a report for the graduate school and student accessibility services, and better advocate on behalf of our graduate and master’s students with disabilities.
