Another successful clean-up at Beaver Brook! Today we joined and local residents/neighbors to improve access to urban green spaces and create a trail along the brook. This location is a hot spot for illegal dumping so removing trash and clearing invasives was a priority. Maintenance is an ongoing project! Let us know if you are interested in supporting this project.

Welcome to our last Friday at the Garden this Summer. Today, we’ll look at a frequent flyer—the Ailanthus Webworm Moth.
When landed, these moths can look like beetles because they hold their wings tightly against their bodies. However, since these moths have spread across the Americas as north as Ontario, Canada, they’ve made host plants of the invasive Tree of Heaven. Like monarch butterflies, they feed on their host plants as larva which makes them toxic to potential predators.
