One year after hearing Pope Leo XIV’s first words to the world, “Peace be with you all,” President Marc M. Camille had the extraordinary opportunity to meet the Holy Father at the Vatican. 🇻🇦
During a private audience on June 3, 2026, President Camille represented Albertus Magnus College as part of an Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities delegation. When the moment came to personally greet Pope Leo, he offered the words that had stayed with him since that first day at Albertus:
“Peace be with you, Holy Father.”
That brief handshake became a deeply meaningful moment of connection between our Church and Dominican tradition, Albertus’s first century, and the second century now before us.
In the final reflection of his Rome Seminar blog series, President Camille reflects on Pope Leo’s message to Catholic educators, the call to seek and love truth, recognize the dignity of every person, and embrace innovation while preserving our distinctly human capacity to reason and think critically.
As Albertus begins its second century, President Camille concludes his reflections with the same words that began this journey:
