"On Monday, I officially graduated with my Master of Public Administration (MPA). 🎓

After seven years of higher education, growth, setbacks, lessons, long nights, and unforgettable moments, I can finally say I’ve earned my master’s degree. This experience shaped me not only academically, but personally and professionally as well.

Throughout these years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow into a stronger leader, collaborator, and advocate for community engagement and student development. I’m incredibly grateful for every mentor, friend, classmate, colleague, and family member who supported and encouraged me along the way.

A special thank you to Professor Thanh Hoang for your guidance, support, and impact throughout this journey. Your mentorship truly made a difference in my experience. 🫶🏻

I also want to give a huge shoutout to the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership Development for an unforgettable two years. Being part of that office helped shape some of my most meaningful experiences in graduate school, and I’ll always be grateful for the memories, opportunities, and people who made it feel like home.

As this chapter closes, I’m excited for what’s ahead as I begin my new position as Program Coordinator for the Center for Teaching and Learning at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow, learn, and make an impact in this next chapter.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey!!"

Over the semester, SCSU Dems has been focused on highlighting the 92nd State House Rep election and the importance of local politics for our members/campus. Where some people see apathetic young voters, we see an opportunity to educate our peers on the intricacies of the local democratic process. We've had the pleasure of having Pat Dillon, Justin Farmer, and Eli Sabin (candidates for the election) to our meetings to speak on their experiences not only being part of local politics but as well as their experience running for office.

This event will be open to the community, and local neighbors are encouraged to attend.

It will be held on May 8th, 2026 at 6:30 PM in the Adanti Student Center Theatre. Guests are welcome to park in Lot 5 and Wintergreen Garage.

We encourage attendees to RSVP so we can accurately order the appropriate amount of food.

“Up and Down the River”: A Mohegan History Film for America at 250
Wednesday, April 29
12:00pm - 1:15pm
Adanti Student Center Theater

Please join us for a screening of this 20-minute film, followed by a lively conversation with the director and writer, Madeline Sayet, a Mohegan filmmaker, theater director, writer, and clinical associate professor at Arizona State University.

Featuring a predominantly Indigenous cast, the movie is centered on the Mohegan nation’s distinctive experiences, challenges, and resilience in Revolutionary War times. Powerfully and movingly told, it shows “the sacrifice all Mohegans had to make to preserve the future of our Mohegan nation and this country.”

Sponsored by the Neil Thomas Proto Scholar and Civic Fund in Law and Social Justice.
