This morning 1/c Sarah Kaleta, 1/c Hector Lizardo Moronta, 1/c Sydney Motherway, and 2/c Hannah Laudenslager presented projects at Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia to an audience of Coast Guard members, SNAME professionals, and family. The 1/c cadets presented their Capstone project, a concept design for a Service Operations Vessel (SOV) to service the Vineyard Wind Farm off the coast of Massachusetts. 2/c Hannah Laudenslager presented her directed study on totally enclosed lifeboats and an assessment of the Life Saving Appliances Code.

For Principles of Ship Design lab today, NA&ME Class of 2024 cadets took a field trip to USCGC SYCAMORE in Newport, RI. The purpose of this trip was to tour a 225 and learn from the crew about buoy tending. This helped give the military design teams some insightful context for their designs!
