Sign up for a table at the International Festival! Tables are open from 5-6:30 PM Saturday, March 7th. Must be set up and ready by 4:45!! Fill out the survey below to reserve a table:

Hi to all students, staff and faculty,

As you all know, the International Festival is almost here - Saturday, March 7th, 2015!! Besides having a talent show, we also have table displays for all the countries that want to be represented. The table displays will place in Wheeler Hall from 5:00-6:30 p.m. just before the fashion show and talent show. If you have lived or traveled in another country, including Study Abroad experiences, please consider putting together a display of souvenirs from that country. It would be great if you could wear the traditional clothing of that country. You can include maps, books, souvenirs and/or a slide show on your laptop. In addition to that, if you are interested, you can also cook and serve food from your country. Up to $100 will be reimbursed to each table by our club so please save your receipts and hand them in to Arya Poudel after the festival. If you want to do a table a display, but you are the only one from your country, please don’t hesitate to come and talk to us! In previous international festivals, students have often collaborated with their neighboring country and put on a display table together. You can also ask a friend to help you out, even if they are not from that country. Please select a team leader for your table who will be able to oversee the display and be the contact. Look at the questionnaire on Survey Monkey at the link below for more detail.
Please complete the following survey.

To all Colby Sawyer students:

The Cross-Cultural Club exists to offer cultural opportunities and support cultural events across campus such as the International Festival, the Nepali Kite Festival, the Lunar New Year, Ethiopian Easter among others. As we prepare to wrap up this spring semester and make plans for next year's events we would like to update our email distribution list. Please email the club secretary, Asmita Niraula, by Friday if you would like to be on our email distribution list for upcoming elections and other future activities (current members should respond as well). An important email will be coming out to those who respond in the next week. Get involved! Build friendships across cultures! Make a difference! Let Asmita know if you want to remain on or be added to the club email distribution list: [email protected].

Letter for Cindy ~

Hi to all international students:

Our annual International Festival is coming up on Friday, February 21st, one month after we return from break! This is one of the biggest events at CSC each year and draws hundreds of people from the community! The officers are Cross Cultural Club are looking for volunteers to help coordinate the following portions of the evening:

Table Displays
Fashion Show
Talent Show
Photography Exhibit
Video
Games
Dance Demonstrations
Artistic Crafts – Henna, Facepainting, etc.

Please email me if you are interested and let me know which area. There is a meeting tonight in Ware 101 at 6 with everyone on the planning committee. If you’d like to hear more about it, come join us! If you are a first year, we would love to have you get involved!

Lastly, we hope all of you will at least host a table display about your culture and consider gathering any items you might need over break. Many people offer food samples at their tables, so if you have access to an international market over break, think ahead to what you might make and get the ingredients you need.

It’s an amazing evening and we can’t wait to celebrate together again in the spring!!

Cheers!
Cindy
