The reasons to are as individual as our students! Meet Student Ambassador Christa Mancuso!
✅Hometown: Naugatuck, CT
✅Major/Year: Hospitality & Tourism/2024
🦀Favorite Classes (so far) at Mitchell: “While I was at Thames (post-high school college transition program at Mitchell), my favorite class was the off-campus Mystic Aquarium class. At Mitchell, my favorites include Intro to Business with Professor Linda Buhr and my Presentation class with Professor Candace Morgan, where I’ve grown in my confidence to present in front of an audience! Additionally, my Learning Specialist Beth Smith at the Bentsen Learning Center supports me and wants me to succeed in all of my classes so I can go above and beyond as a college student.”
⛱Favorite New London hangout: “I recommend Mitchell Beach for hanging out with friends and relaxing and listening to the waves and Mitchell Green, where you can just sit and enjoy a nice sunny day and the campus scenery.”
❤️🖤🍨Favorite Mitchell tradition: “Going to get ice cream at Michael’s Dairy and Splash Bash, which is a campus-wide beach party held each year to kick off the fall semester.”
✅Internship experience/plans: “I definitely am looking forward to an internship and my plans will develop as I get closer to my junior year.”
😍Why I’m glad I chose Mitchell: “I am so grateful I was able to attend Mitchell College because I really enjoy meeting new people and the staff here. Everyone is always there to help you at Mitchell. With all the support here, I am able to advocate for myself to be a successful college student. We are such a great small community that calls us family!”
✅What has surprised me about Mitchell: “What surprised me is how everyone here at Mitchell is always there for you and supporting you in every way to reach your goals and be a successful student. They want to see you grow as a student and see what you can do in the real world.”
