As we prepare to welcome the Class of 2030, we're inviting members of our local community to become part of something truly meaningful.

In this video, you'll hear directly from cadets about the impact their sponsor families have had throughout their Academy experience. From helping them navigate everyday challenges and prioritize their thoughts during stressful times to providing guidance on major life decisions, sponsor families play an invaluable role.

Cadets share how sponsor families have helped them think through important choices such as selecting their billet preferences, exploring career opportunities, and preparing for life after commissioning. These conversations, experiences, and relationships help shape confident leaders ready to enter the workforce and serve our nation.

But perhaps most importantly, sponsor families provide something every cadet needs—a trusted support system, a listening ear, and a home away from home.

❤️ Sometimes the greatest gift isn't a place to stay—it's a place to belong.

For many cadets, life at the Academy is rewarding, but it can also be demanding. Sponsor families provide more than a home-cooked meal or a comfortable couch. They offer a listening ear after a tough week, a chance to talk through challenges, and a welcoming space where cadets can simply be themselves.

Through the Sponsor Family Program, cadets build meaningful friendships and connections here on the East Coast. Whether it's sharing dinner around the table, celebrating holidays, enjoying a game night, or just having someone to vent to, these moments help cadets refocus, recenter, and take a much-needed break from the pressures of Academy life. Often, it's the opportunity to get something off their chest that makes all the difference.

🎶 Join us for an afternoon of music at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy! 🎶

The U.S. Coast Guard Band will perform a free public concert on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m. in Leamy Hall. Come enjoy an outstanding performance from one of the nation's premier military bands and experience an afternoon of great music with family and friends.

For many cadets, Sponsor Families become more than a “home away from home” — they become family for life. From holiday visits and weekend stays to attending weddings, graduations, promotions, and retirement ceremonies, these relationships continue to grow long after the Academy years are over. ⚓✨

Years later, cadets return with spouses, children, and stories to share… keeping traditions, memories, and friendships alive across generations. What begins as a simple act of support often becomes a lifelong bond filled with love, laughter, nostalgia, and unwavering connection.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ❤️🤍💙

Their courage, service, and sacrifice gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day, and for that we are forever grateful.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, may we also take a quiet moment to reflect on those who gave so much for all of us.
