We are proud to celebrate Dr. Vinod Dasa on his appointment as Co-Chair of the National Initiative to Reduce Opioid Use in Orthopaedics by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).

This prestigious national leadership role recognizes Dr. Dasa's dedication to advancing safer, evidence-based pain management and improving patient outcomes before, during, and after orthopaedic care.

In addition to serving as Co-Chair, Dr. Dasa is also an editor of the newly launched AAOS Pain Management Resource Center, which features the LSU Orthopedics Post-Op Pain Rx Protocol a structured, multimodal approach designed to reduce unnecessary opioid use while delivering effective pain relief.

Dr. Dasa's continued leadership reflects LSU Orthopedics' commitment to innovation, research, and patient-centered care, helping shape the future of orthopaedic pain management on a national level.

After suffering a serious ankle injury, jockey Paco Lopez trusted the expert orthopedic team at LSU Health New Orleans to help him recover. Months later, he returned to the track and rode to victory in the 151st Preakness Stakes, a remarkable comeback fueled by determination, rehabilitation, and exceptional care.
