Last month, the Beautiful and Divine Beta Delta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated hosted and participated in numerous community engagement events!
Two of our Sorors participated in McDonogh 35 High School’s NPHC showcase. During this presentation, they shared the history and purpose of our beloved sorority with students. Additionally, they were able to see various youth auxiliaries perform different steps and present their new members. Thank you to Soror Richardson and Soror Ware for representing us at this event and showcasing the Finer perspective in the Divine Nine!
Additionally, we hosted our very first Sip and Build! Putting a twist on the traditional sip and paint, we put together Lego bouquets while enjoying mock tails, charcuterie, and music. This event allowed us to relax and BuilD friendships as we collaborated to make something beautiful together.
Finally, in recognition of National Substance Use Prevention Month, we partnered with the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students and the New Orleans Health Department to host a Narcan Training. Participants learned how to recognize an opioid overdose, administer nalaxone (Narcan), and care for an individual until emergency services arrive. All attendees also received a free dose of Narcan from the New Orleans Health Department.
Thank you to all of our community partners and collaborators for helping make October a success!
