Sonny Gray
Sonny Gray is a gulf coast native in their first year of studying fiction at UNO’s MFA program. They are particularly interested in writing about the south or people who come from the south, with focuses on themes of queerness, sickness, and madness.
Joby Mire
Joby was born and raised in French Louisiana and spent his formative adult years living in southern California. He studied psychology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the California School of Professional Psychology. He then switched to studying English literature, with a focus on the early modern period, at California State University, Long Beach and is now back in New Orleans where he studies English creative writing in the genre of poetry at the University of New Orleans. Joby is the proud cat dad of three beautiful black cats Power, Magus, and Endora and firmly believes the black cat to be his spirit animal.
After the readings, emcee Julie Elise Landry will interview the writers about their work and their experiences with writing.
