From our Friends at NOLA Black Professionals. Sometimes, Justice just needs a break. Check this opportunity out. NBP does great work in this city.

Hey, it's Teniesha! Yes I know, I'm all the way in Seattle. But I wanted to say hi to the new peeps and heeyyyy to all my friends I left in New Orleans.

Our holiday party this Sunday is going to be so much fun, I wish I could be there with all of you! We reserved The Revolution and Morgan and Tiffany can't wait to see your faces. That's right, we reserved the building just for you! DJ Groove Kid will be playing all your favorite Drake classics. We have Drake-inspired drinks curated by our girl Jessica of Justini Cocktails. Take pictures in the photo booth provided by Memory Capture Photo Booth.

You've worked hard all year. You deserve to dance, vibe, and have a good time. Dress in your ugly sweater and bring a friend or two.

We still have tickets available for $15. If you're a couple, purchase your tickets for $25 ( $5 savings).

We also want to thank our sponsors Sevetri Wilson of Exempt Me Now & Gina Charbonnet of GeChar, LLC for making our holiday event possible! If you don't know these ladies, you should definitely take a moment to learn more about their amazing businesses, but most importantly their unyielding support of small businesses in our community. As we say, "When a Real One Wins, We All Win!"

Damned NFL Live on ESPN...sometimes they do something that makes more sense and reminds you that the challenges some of us face can be far less than the challenges of others. ALSO, we are reminded that many who face challenges, as the Apostle Paul said to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:3, "endure hardship, like a good soldier." (Wow, I paraphrased scripture!!!!)

All of that said, NFL Live hipped me to Express Yourself! Art, and I think you should check it out and share. Kendrell Daniels, one of the gifted artists we are fortunate to be aware of through their program, was the story they featured. See that here (5 minutes, 58 seconds):

And, don't forget Catch A Lift Foundation, a foundation started in memory of my high school classmate, Army Cpl. Chris Coffland, who made the ULTIMATE sacrifice for your, for OUR, Constitutional RIGHTS!!!! Their goal of 1,000 donations of $13.00 is still active, real and alive.

Here is the second...another take on justice from Beto O'Rourke, the democratic challenger to Ted Cruz in the Texas Senatorial race. It is 4 minutes long, but you will not even know...it is solid. Please send the link to all of your friends, not for agreement or acceptance, but just to share another view. As Eric Pfeifer said this morning, and I paraphrase, "We would be much better off if people would just listen.

The man taking on Ted Cruz, Texas' Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke brilliantly explains why NFL players kneeling during the national anthem is not disrespectf...

Two posts today, the most important being John McCain, as you are well aware, passed away this weekend. He was an advocate of and for justice, and his voice, in the regard, will be missed. Where we, all, sometimes make a decision that is less favorable with some and more favorable with others, as long as we make that decision based on facts, we, at least, have good grounds to stand firm on with the criticisms, good or less good, that will follow. John McCain was ok with that. He also critiqued himself, and was able to find and correct, or find and continue/further the cause, issue, idea, or situation.

He had really wicked and good humor. Many of the news programs I watched showed some interview excerpts of him throughout the decades, and the hosts told personal interaction stories about him...and, I found myself laughing or smiling throughout.

May his soul rest in peace and with dignity, knowing he did, IN FACT, make a difference.

I received this from my friends, Peter Gold and Nick Curran, both graduates of Tulane University, and both of whom live in NYC. They founded an organization, Strong City, https://www.mystrongcity.org/, to work on behalf of at risk youth in NOLA. They love NOLA, they love life so much, that, even away from here, they are working hard to do well BY here, as we say. So, see below, spread the word, and pick your "horse" in this race!!!! And, be sure to consider a donation. SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!!

Hey Strong Citizens,

On July 1st, Strong City founders Peter Gold and Nick Curran will race in the New York City Triathlon.

In lead up to the event we’re raising money for the Youth Empowerment Project’s 2018 summer camp, where every $300 donated supports one child with a full week of camp activities.

To make this race interesting, we’re hosting a friendly competition to see who you think will finish with the best time.

Pick your racer below, and if you donate $50 or more to the winning team, you'll receive a free Strong City hat and more.

Barbara Bush died today. Sometimes called "America's Grandma", I can tell you I was a fan of this lady, this woman, this mother, this grandmother, of Barbara Bush. May she rest in peace, and may we forever honor her life, legacy, and her willingness to serve this country for over 72 years.

While her husband was the linchpin of a multigenerational political dynasty, Barbara Bush, with her shock of white hair and trademark pearls, provided much of the steel in the family.
