We are honored to celebrate 7 regional awards, including 5 First Place honors, recognizing the innovative programs, meaningful service, economic empowerment initiatives, educational development efforts, and sisterhood that define our chapter.

From strengthening Black wealth and mentoring future leaders to preserving culture through Kwanzaa celebrations and fostering lifelong connections among sorors, these awards reflect the dedication, vision, and hard work of our members who remain committed to serving our community with excellence.

As we celebrate 90 years of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action, we are reminded that our legacy is not only built on what we have accomplished, but on the lives we continue to impact every day.

Congratulations to every committee, chair and co-chair, and soror whose passion and commitment made this recognition possible. The work continues, and so does the legacy.

Today, we celebrate a true jewel of our sisterhood, Soror Mable Thomas, as she marks an extraordinary 100th birthday.

For 45 years, Soror Thomas has exemplified the very essence of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through her service, wisdom, leadership, and unwavering dedication to sisterhood. Her life is a testament to grace, resilience, faith, and a commitment to uplifting others across generations.

The New Orleans Alumnae Chapter honors and celebrates this incredible milestone with deep love and gratitude. Happy 100th Birthday, Soror Mable Thomas. Your legacy continues to inspire us all. β€οΈπŸ”Ί

In her own words, she shared:

Initiated on November 20, 1981, as a proud member of β€œThe Mighty 32,” I immediately embraced the lifelong commitment of sisterhood and service as a Golden Life Member. Through leadership roles and committee service within the New Orleans Alumnae Chapter, I formed cherished friendships while contributing my spirit of volunteerism, wisdom, and dedication.

One of my proudest moments was becoming a Delta D.E.A.R. at the age of 62. I proudly embody what it means to be a Dedicated, Energetic, Active, and Respected Soror of Delta Sigma Theta, and I remain committed to the principles of scholarship, sisterhood, service, and social action.

Over the years, I have attended six National Conventions in Dallas, San Francisco, Miami, Baltimore, and twice in New Orleans, along with three Regional Conferences in Little Rock, Austin, and New Orleans. Each experience has strengthened my love for this extraordinary sisterhood.

After 45 years of treasured Delta memories, I remain grateful for every experience, every sisterhood bond, and every opportunity to serve. As a proud centenarian, my journey has been filled with blessings β€” as a Christian, wife, mother, educator, world traveler, sports fan, Soror, and survivor. I have had a wonderful 100 years and look forward to many, many more!
