Delgado Community College Pharmacy Technician Program The Pharmacy Technician program at Delgado Community College has been accredited since 2003. The program currently offers two levels for Pharmacy Technician.

MISSION:
The mission of the Pharmacy Technician program is to provide academic and clinical education that will prepare the student to perform all duties and responsibilities with attention to detail and professionalism. The Entry-Level (Certificate of Technical Competency/CTC) is two semesters - with new classes starting in the Fall and Spring. Students are trained and educated in Pharmacology, P

harmacy Math, Pharmacy Law and Ethics, Communication, and Pharmacy Operations, which includes prescription processing, basic non-sterile compounding, and entry-level hospital pharmacy technician roles. Class size is 12 - 24 students. Our students have achieved a 93% pass rate on the PTCE. The Advanced-level (Certificate of Technical Studies /CTS) is one additional semester with training in advanced Pharmacy Roles, including Point of Care Testing, Immunizations, Medication Reconciliation, Medication Therapy Management, Advanced Non-Sterile Compounding, and Sterile Compounding. Students will complete BLS CPR and ACPE certificate in Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT). The Advanced level is offered in the Fall semester.
93% of graduates are working in a pharmacy within 1 month of completion.
