Every year since 2009, the UNO-Japan: Study at Doshisha University takes up to 29 students to learn about Japan. One of the most picturesque, historically and culturally rich cities in Japan, Kyoto serves as the perfect backdrop for students to learn in various disciplines such as language, literature, film, and political science (classes change every year). Incorporating Honors options in most co
urses offered, the UNO-Japan: Study at Doshisha University program has something for just about everyone! This five-week adventure is in the city of Kyoto, where students learn and live in the cradle of Japanese civilization. Join us next summer and take advantage of a unique opportunity to study where cultures merge and history emerged. The ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto has a rich tradition in the arts, literature, and language. Participate with other students in a fascinating journey of excitement and discovery. Each of two courses carry three hours of credit and emphasize the exploration of this culturally-rich world. Field trips that include a day in Kyoto plus visits to Osaka (historically the commercial capital of Japan) and Nara (the capital of Japan from 710-784) are offered as part of the program. Sign up today and join other students on the adventure of a lifetime. Please feel free to email us at [email protected] with your questions, or to put yourself on a mailing list to receive updates on the Program. The UNO-Japan: Study at Doshisha Program is proud to have had the opportunity to carry on with the program despite the tragedies that occurred in the Tohoku region of Japan in March of 2011. We thank our steadfast hosts at Doshisha University, the faculty, and most importantly the students. Together we helped, in our own small ways, to contribute to the recovery of Japan. Those of us who endured Katrina remember the help we received from our Japanese friends, and also how important it was for us to continue with "business as usual" in any way possible.
