Kappa Delta Epsilon at UNO

Kappa Delta Epsilon at UNO Kappa Delta Epsilon is an honorary professional education fraternity organized on March 25, 1933. All faculty members at the university are eligible as well.

The purpose of Kappa Delta Epsilon is to promote the cause of education by fostering a spirit of fellowship, high standards of scholastic attainment, and professional ideals among its members. The Delta Epsilon chapter of KDE at the University of New Orleans was chartered in December 2006. As a professional organization, KDE is an active group in which members of serious purpose undertake projects

of service to the campus and/or community. Kappa Delta Epsilon enhances teaching as a profession and as a way of living by alerting members to current issues in education through regularly scheduled meetings. The Delta Epsilon chapter meets at least once a month during the fall and spring semesters. The regular monthly meetings include a guest speaker from the field of education. In addition to the regular meetings, KDE hosts socials to promote friendship and networking possibilities. Each month, KDE also tries to present small informational sessions of interest to all education majors at UNO. Membership to KDE is open to all undergraduate education majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and 30 hours of completed coursework. Membership is also open to graduate students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and 6 hours of completed graduate work. Hey members!

There is a volunteer opportunity with the College of Education part of their NCATE certification. There is an event on Sunday, November 8 from 5pm-7pm in the UC ballroom. Hey everyone! This is Jessica, president of KDE.
We are having our very first bake sale on Wednesday, September 9 on the first floor of the education building. It will run most of the day, 10am-3pm, because it will also be an informational booth as well. So, please bring something that we can sell during that time. Remember: if you bring an item, you will receive one hour towards your 10 service hours that you need for the semester. I will also send out an email to the emails that I have once we get a room for our meeting. Thanks to all and I will see everyone soon!

At the University of New Orleans, the Orientation Leaders work hard all year long to make sure incoming students feel welcome, safe, and supported! The OLs give new students a sense of community at their new institution which fosters further growth and development.

These funds go directly to our continuing development, implementation, and improvement of orientation programs for Freshmen, Transfer, Adult, and International students.
