STEM Scholars Camp is an intensive one-week program that helps science and engineering students transition to LSU New Orleans, prepare for professional or graduate school, ease first-semester stress, and strengthen math and biology skills. STEM Scholars camp is an intensive, one-week program designed to help science and engineering students make the transition to UNO, learn skills for professional

or graduate school, and take the stress out of the first semester of college and help current UNO students strengthen their math and biology skills.. Develop and hone critical skills necessary to be successful in college (time management, note taking, test taking and reading complex material). Take actual exams without the fear of failing! An average day includes:
Small lectures taught by experienced professors. Study sessions. Thoughtful group discussions led by current students. Social activities with current and other incoming students. Possible course topics:
Biology track: Biology 1 (BIOS 1083)
Math track: Algebra, Trigonometry or Calculus (MATH 1115, 1125, 1126, 2114)

The Beach at UNO is excited to collaborate with several departments on the Startup Studio Summer Course designed to help students build real-world skills in innovation, entrepreneurship, and product development.

-Duration: June 8 to July 31, 2026

-Format: In-person/hybrid

The Startup Studio summer course is an interdisciplinary hybrid/in person class that introduces students to entrepreneurship and how to build new businesses. The course runs from June 8 to July 31, 2026 and is open to all UNO students. Registration is currently open. Throughout the course, the class travels across the UNO campus and the city of New Orleans, where students will learn from the innovation team at the Beach, UNO faculty in engineering, computer sciences, hospitality, and business, as well as industry experts at the Idea Village and the New Orleans BioInnovation Center. The students will learn about customer discovery, business planning, fundraising, as well as software prototyping and 3D printing/rapid prototyping. By the end of the class, students will understand how to turn an idea into a viable startup concept as well as how to build prototypes of their concepts.

At LSU New Orleans the One-Year Master of Science Degree Program gives students the opportunity to obtain a M.S. degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biomedical Science.

The program requires coursework, an internship in research or the health professions, a capstone scholarly research paper and oral presentation.

The degree has been designed to give students the option of completing the degree in one academic year. Students may
also choose to reduce the course load taken per semester and finish in 3-4 semesters.

The curriculum focuses on investigating the biomedical research that underlies advances in medicine.
