Hey everyone!! Our last meeting of the semester is this Monday, 4/18 at 6:30 in Newcomb 16. We will be discussing our moral obligations to others, specifically focusing on charitable obligations via Singer's Drowning Child thought experiment. Because it's the last meeting we will be having treats!! I hope to see you all there!!

Also, our second to last meeting of the semester is coming up this Wednesday, 4/6 at 6:30 pm in Newcomb 16! We will be discussing the basics of anarchy, and possibly debating the merits of statism, anarcho-capitalism, and anarcho-communism. (Don't worry, no prior knowledge required). I hope to see you all there!

Philosophy Club is looking for a new Secretary for the upcoming fall semester (Fall 2022). Good morning Philosophy Club!

Our next meeting is Today, Monday 3/21 at 6:30 p.m. in Newcomb 16!! We will be joined by Professor Robert Hartman who will be discussing the topic of moral luck and forgiveness with us!! (Think: if moral outcomes are, at least in part, determined by luck, how much can we blame/praise people for immoral/moral outcomes of their actions?) We're hoping again to have a big turnout as Professor Hartman has been so gracious with his time. See you there!!

Our next philosophy club meeting will be this Wednesday, 3/9 at 6:30 p.m. in Newcomb 16. We will be joined by Professor Joshua Mund, our first speaker of the semester! He will be discussing the ethics of eating animals and animal products with us. We're hoping for a big turnout as Professor Mund has so generously volunteered his time to his. Hope to see you there!

The first philosophy club meeting of the semester is this Wednesday 2/9 at 6:30 pm in Newcomb 16! Join us to discuss what makes an action right or wrong and the debate between utilitarianism and kantianism (don't worry about the big words- all will be explained). Hey everyone!

Our final philosophy club meeting of the semester will be this Wednesday, 12/8 at 6:30 p.m. in Newcomb 15. We will be joined by Professor Louis Gularte, our first speaker of the semester! He will be discussing with us the question "is it irrational not to care about morality/others?" We're hoping for a big turnout as Professor Gularte has been so gracious with his time.
