ADEA at Columbia University

The ADEA District 1, 2, and 3 Boards would like to invite you to participate in their 1st Annual I Have An ADEA (previously known as the New England Curriculum Hackathon) on Saturday, January 23, 2021. This event will be held virtually rather than in person like previous years.
If you are not aware, I Have An ADEA is an opportunity for students to serve as a dean for the day, innovate a dental curriculum with dental students from other schools, share their work and compete through an oral presentation, and network with others who are interested in academic dentistry. Our mission is to use this event to ignite a conversation that includes the student voice and ideas on the future of dental education. Faculty from District 1 (BU, Tufts, Harvard, UNE, UConn) and District 2 (Buffalo, Columbia, NYU, Rutgers, Stony Brook, Touro) dental schools will judge oral presentations and choose a winner!

On August 19, ADEA at CDM paired with Columbia's HSDA chapter to facilitate the donation of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and OHI information to the Children’s Aid Health Center in the Bronx! Dr. Levy, the dentist at Children’s Aid’s, provides routine exams and cleanings for more than 1,600 children each year from high need NYC neighborhoods. Columbia’s ADEA chapter was so excited to contribute to Children’s Aid’s incredible mission of improving the health and wellbeing of children in poverty by reducing barriers and providing tools for a successful future!
