๐ฌ โToday is a defining moment for Brooklyn College. The renewal of the East Quad and the launch of The Road to 100 demonstrate our commitment to investing in both the people and the places that make Brooklyn College extraordinary. As we approach our centennial, we are building a campus and a community that will continue to transform lives for generations to come.โ
โPresident Michelle J. Anderson
Marking a monumental achievement for Brooklyn College, students, alumni, faculty, and partners gathered on October 22 to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the newly transformed East Quad and launch The Road to 100, an ambitious initiative leading to the 2030 centennial.
One of the most significant recent campus improvements, the historic East Quad has been reimagined as a highly accessible, sustainable, and welcoming gathering space. The revitalization preserves its cherished beauty while introducing upgraded pathways, landscaping, seating, and green spaces to foster learning and community building.
President Anderson was joined at the ribbon cutting by City University of New York Vice Chancellor for Facilities Mohamed Attalla, The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) president Robert J. Rodriguez (Robert J. Rodriguez), Brooklyn College Foundation Board Chair Anthony R. Castellanos โ85, and Foundation trustee and former chair Edwin H. Cohen โ62.
This milestone project, which sets the stage for the collegeโs next great chapter, was made possible through the crucial capital funding advocacy of Senator Andrew Gounardes.
๐ถ Bulldogs, we deeply appreciate your patience throughout the past 10 months of construction. We hope this beautifully revitalized green space becomes a welcoming backdrop for forging lasting friendships, connecting with classmates, and creating unforgettable memories during your time at Brooklyn College.
