A Milestone Moment: Being Featured in the 17th Edition of PEGs
From Luckychair Founder, Sue Jenkins:
Being selected to be featured in the 17th edition of the "Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines" (PEGs) is a profound honor for me. It is a recognition of the dedication, hard work, and passion that I have poured into my craft and career over the years. This feature not only validates my journey but also provides a platform to share my experiences and insights with the broader community of graphic artists. This milestone is a true testament to the enduring support and resources provided by the Graphic Artists Guild (GAG), of which I have been a proud member for 25 years.
Joining the Graphic Artists Guild in 2001 was a pivotal moment in my career. The Guild has been an invaluable resource, offering guidance on pricing, licensing, and ethical practices. The PEGs handbook has been my go-to reference for navigating the complexities of the industry. It has helped me set fair prices, draft contracts, and understand the legal aspects of my work, ensuring that I can focus on what I do best, teaching design and creating compelling visual art.
In the featured section of PEGs, I had the opportunity to share my story, from the early days of my career to the present. My hope is that my experiences will inspire and guide other artists and creatives, helping them navigate their own paths in the industry.
One of the most rewarding parts of being a member of the Graphic Artists Guild is the sense of community it fosters. The Guild has provided me with a network of like-minded professionals who share their knowledge, offer support, and celebrate each other's successes. This community has been instrumental in my growth as an artist and has most definitely enriched my professional journey in so many ways.
As I look to the future, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. I am eager to continue contributing to the graphic arts community, whether through my work, mentorship, teaching, or advocacy for fair practices and ethical standards.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Graphic Artists Guild for this incredible opportunity. To my fellow members, thank you for your support, camaraderie, and for making this journey so rewarding. And to all the readers of PEGs, I hope that my story inspires you and provides valuable insights as you pursue your own artistic endeavors.
Here's to many more years of creativity, growth, and success in the graphic arts community!
With Gratitude,
