Big news for Cornell Tech: $133 million gift from the founder of Qualcomm and his wife to create the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Technion-Cornell Innovation Institute, specializing in connective media, healthier living and the built environment.

The donation, from the founder of Qualcomm and his wife, will help the applied sciences school on Roosevelt Island offer an unusual program with an Israeli university.
