Dlissa - St. John's University DLIS Student Association DLISSA is a student-led organization that serves as both the social nexus of our program and a platform for exploring our professional interests.

DLISSA is a student-led organization that serves as both the social nexus of our program and a platform for exploring our professional interests while still in school. Members of DLISSA come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of professional goals, but see the value in collaboration across disciplines. The Executive Board serves DLISSA by planning and executing programming such as social

events, a student research symposium, and guest speaker visits. The members of the Executive Board are nominated and confirmed by members present at general body meetings (GBM) and by email. Members of the Executive Board are expected to serve for one academic year. Members of DLISSA can expect great events in return for their participation in planning meetings. Distance students welcome!

REMINDER: Submissions for the Spring 2017 Newsletter are due April 30th! Any student who has participated/experienced a conference/lecture/symposium, has published, or has participated in a panel is welcome to submit a short ~250 word article, about the experience, to be published in this semester's Newsletter! (Submissions can be emailed to [email protected])

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: As the Spring 2017 semester comes to a close, the deadline for Spring 2017 Newsletter articles is fast approaching.

For any of you who have attended an LIS event (conference, lecture, student swing, etc.), submitted an article for publishing, or participated in an internship or other work opportunity, we at the DLIS Newsletter would love for you to write up a short blog (~250 words), for the Spring 2017 Newsletter, detailing your experience.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Reminder that the 2nd Annual DLISSA Student Research Symposium is April 22nd, 2017 at the St. John's University Manhattan Campus.

All submissions are due by April 15th 2017.

This is a great opportunity for students to get up in front of their peers and develop presentation skills. All submissions are welcome!!!!
