Help shape the next generation of STEM innovators 🌟

The Junior Academy is now accepting applications for Mentors for the 2026–2027 academic year. If you're a STEM student, researcher, postdoc, or professional who is passionate about science, innovation, and mentorship, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students from around the world.

As a Mentor, you'll guide student teams through 10-week Innovation Challenges on Launchpad, supporting them as they research complex problems, develop solutions, test ideas, analyze results, and present their findings. With a flexible commitment of just 1-2 hours per week, you can help inspire future leaders in STEM while expanding your own leadership and mentoring experience.

Applications are open through July 2, 2026.

We are pleased to congratulate Hamilton Oh, PhD of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on joining the 2026 cohort of in partnership with the Leon Levy Foundation!

Dr. Oh received his PhD from Stanford University, where he trained with Dr. Tony Wyss-Coray and analyzed large-scale plasma and cerebrospinal fluid proteomics data to understand how circulating proteins reflect organ aging and predict disease.

As a Leon Levy Scholar, he investigates how circulating proteins regulate susceptibility or resilience to chronic stress, with the goal of identifying systemic factors that shape neurocircuit activity and behavior and may serve as novel therapeutic targets for depression and related stress disorders.

Learn more about Hamilton and meet each of the Scholars in our latest press release. 👏
