The Global Express is an online magazine for the Global Liberal Studies program at New York University. It serves as a window into the lives of GLS students domestic and abroad; a database that showcases everything from student’s daily and global experiences to the various local, large-scaled issues of each site. GLS students are scattered among NYU’s many international campuses, across four conti
nents and nine cities—Berlin, Buenos Aires, Florence, London, Madrid, New York, Paris, Tel Aviv and Shanghai. Each site is a global center for cultural exchange with different historical and social contexts. The online magazine is an exploration of these contexts through various media produced by GLS students. It contains written testimonials and experiences, articles, photos and videos that reflect everything from social, economic and political issues to daily explorations and first-hand narratives. Ultimately, the Global Express strives to share student’s diverse global experiences in an attempt to give readers the ability to live vicariously and gain a better understanding of the world we live in today.
