The NYU School of Professional Studies is one of NYU’s several degree-granting schools and colleges, each with a unique academic profile. Established in 1934, the reputation of the School arises from its place as the NYU home for study and applied research related to key knowledge-based industries where the New York region leads globally. This is manifest in the School’s diverse graduate, undergraduate, and continuing education programs in fields such as Real Estate and Construction Management; Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management; Global Affairs; Philanthropy and Fundraising; Graphic Communications Media, Publishing, and Digital Arts; Human Capital Management, Marketing, and Public Relations; with complementary strengths in the Liberal and Allied Arts, Translation and Interpreting, Management and Information Technology, and Finance and Taxation.

As we continue our month-long celebration of the 2026 NYU School of Professional Studies Hall of Fame class, we recognize three more outstanding alumni whose careers demonstrate the impact of an SPS education across industries.

Congratulations to Charlie Sungho Shin, Vice President, Analytics & Digital Innovation, Indianapolis Colts; Jonathan Dunne, Chief People Officer, Deloitte Global; and Christopher Goff, Senior Managing Director, Head of Capital Formation, Crescent!

Charlie Sungho Shin (MS '07, NYU SPS Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport): "I left a consulting career in Seoul for NYU SPS, arriving without a background in American sports or a single contact in the business. The program gave me both the knowledge to understand this industry and the network to enter it."

Jonathan Dunne (MS '14, NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business): "My SPS education was an important chapter in both my professional and personal growth. It challenged me to look beyond traditional approaches to human resources and to understand how people, organizational design, and leadership can come together to drive meaningful change."

Christopher Goff (BA '18, NYU SPS Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies): "SPS took a chance on a young man who had faced a difficult journey, recognizing potential beyond the traditional measures of academic achievement. That belief in me, coupled with an exceptional education and professors who were deeply invested in my success, helped change the trajectory of my life. SPS gave me more than an education, rather it gave me an opportunity to prove what I could achieve."

Congratulations to all nine members of the 2026 NYU SPS Hall of Fame class!

For , we're celebrating NYU SPS Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies alum April Cardena ('22), whose educational journey reflects the power of pursuing new opportunities.

After gaining professional experience in government and political campaigns, April decided to return to college and enrolled at LaGuardia Community College. There, she found her footing, became deeply involved on campus, and eventually worked as a student recruiter helping others navigate their own paths to higher education.

Encouraged by a LaGuardia advisor, April applied to NYU through the Community College Transfer Opportunity Program (CCTOP). She transferred to NYU SPS, where she went on to earn her bachelor's degree in social sciences with a concentration in sociology.

"A lot of us come into the school not knowing the potential that we have," April said of NYU SPS. "Maybe it's our second, third, or fourth try at school. SPS is one of those places where they value your singular experience and they strive to make you a part of a larger community while keeping your experience unique."

Today, April continues to build on her experiences through her work in government affairs, bringing together communities and helping ensure their voices are represented. And, earlier this year, she also helped represent the NYU SPS community as one of the students and alumni featured in our billboard and subway advertising campaign across New York City.

Last night, NYU School of Professional Studies students held a cross-disciplinary event exploring how stadiums are evolving beyond game day into destinations that create year-round value.

Using Viking Lakes as a case study, featured guest Mark Wilf, co-owner and president of the Minnesota Vikings, joined NYU SPS Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport associate dean Daniel Kelly, NYU Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality interim associate dean Bruno Eeckels, and NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate associate dean Marc Norman for a cross-disciplinary conversation about the growing intersection of sport, hospitality, and real estate.

The discussion gave students a unique look at how these industries are converging and what that evolution could mean for the future of sports and entertainment districts.

NYU SPS Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport associate dean Daniel Kelly was quoted in this The Japan Times story about how the NBA's plans to expand into European basketball are raising questions about the future of the EuroLeague, including the potential impact on existing clubs, team owners, and the broader international basketball landscape.

"'They have a clear path to launching in 27-28, a year from now,' said Daniel Kelly, associate dean and clinical professor at NYU's Tisch Institute for Global Sport. 'And they can launch their league without poaching any of those clubs.'

'But the better deal is to align with Euroleague and bring in some of those clubs because then you have a critical mass of fan bases and you’re not starting from scratch.'"

On Tuesday, the continent’s top clubs turned down an offer from the NBA, raising the prospect of a battle for Europe’s teams, players and commercial riches.

We continue to celebrate the 2026 NYU School of Professional Studies Hall of Fame class and the remarkable alumni whose careers reflect the breadth and impact of the SPS community.

This month, we're celebrating our honorees each week, leading up to the SPS Hall of Fame ceremony.
Congratulations to Fenton Reese, Security Territory Manager for the New York Metro Campus and the Eastern United States, Bloomberg LP; Scott Harrison, Founder and CEO of charity: water; and Brian Ray, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners!

Fenton Reese (MS '21, NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business): "NYU SPS helped me transform decades of leadership experience into a deeper understanding of coaching, human development, and organizational transformation. Most importantly, it reinforced my belief that transition is not an ending—it is an opportunity for reinvention, renewed purpose, and continued service."

Scott Harrison (AA ’96, NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business): "My degree has helped prepare me for my first humanitarian mission as a photojournalist aboard the Mercy Ships in post-war Liberia, West Africa. It also gave me a love and familiarity for New York City, where I returned to build charity: water only blocks away from campus."

Brian Ray (MS ’02, NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate): "One of the most important themes of my adult life as a New Yorker has been my constant connection to NYU, and specifically to the Schack Institute of Real Estate. ... I would not have the career I always dreamt of without everything NYU has given me."

Congratulations to our 2026 NYU SPS Hall of Fame inductees!

On Wednesday, leaders at the intersection of real estate, energy, capital, and technology gathered for the inaugural Data Center and AI Infrastructure Forum, hosted by the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate in partnership with Haynes and Boone, LLP. The forum brought together developers, investors, operators, and policymakers to examine the rapidly evolving physical infrastructure powering artificial intelligence.

The forum was led by co-chairs Suhail Tayyeb, clinical assistant professor at the NYU SPS Schack Institute of Real Estate, and Jeffrey A. Moerdler, chair of the Data Center and Digital Infrastructure Practice at Haynes Boone. Marc Norman, associate dean of the Schack Institute, opened the program with welcome remarks.

Throughout the day, conversations moved beyond the headlines around AI to focus on what it actually takes to build and finance the infrastructure behind it, from power availability and grid constraints to capital deployment, site selection, construction timelines, and ex*****on risk. Tayyeb opened the program with "The AI Infrastructure Shock," and later joined Pouya Lavian, deputy chief of staff for policy at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, for a fireside conversation. The program also featured a keynote, "Data Centers For The Rest Of Us," from Dean DeBiase, chairman of RWS Data Centers and CEO of Reboot Partners/Reboot Media.

Congratulations to the NYU Schack community and all of the industry leaders who helped launch this new forum and bring together timely perspectives on the future of AI infrastructure, energy, capital, and real estate.
