Congratulations to Hunter School of Nursing assistant professor Helena Addison, PhD, RN, on being selected for the RWJFoundation’s 2026 Health Equity Scholars for Action program! 🎉 Helena’s research will examine how young people returning home from incarceration access behavioral health care, and she hopes the work will help “connect young people to the care they need when they need it most.”

Earlier this month, Hunter School of Nursing faculty and staff attended the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research NightinGala, joining nursing leaders and researchers to celebrate the work shaping the future of healthcare.

From new discoveries to better patient care, research is at the heart of what we do here. It was a great evening connecting with others who share that mission!

Congratulations to Hunter School of Nursing’s Jennifer Majumdar, PhD, CRNA, on being elected to the New York State Association of Nurse Anesthetists (NYSANA) Board of Directors! 🥳 Dr. Majumdar will help guide the organization’s work supporting more than 2,000 CRNAs across New York State and advancing the nurse anesthesia profession. We’re proud to celebrate this well-deserved leadership role.

Congratulations to Hunter Associate Professor Jin Young Seo, PhD, WHNP-BC, RN, who will serve as Co-Investigator on a newly funded R-01 from the CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. 👏 The four-year CLEANMAP project will study clothing laundry’s impact on airborne microplastic exposure and help raise awareness around these risks. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗

We’re honoring Evelyn H. Lauder, the founder of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and beloved Hunter alumna, whose passion for improving health continues to make an impact today.

Evelyn advanced groundbreaking research in the fight against breast cancer. Her legacy also lives on at Hunter Nursing through the Evelyn Lauder Community Care Nurse Practitioner Fellowship.
