Our main priority is to prepare for and take part in the annual National Model United Nations - New York conference, which is sponsored by the National Collegiate Conference Association (NCAA). The National Model United Nations conference is an academic simulation of the workings of the United Nations and relevant international organizations, such as the African Development Bank, the African Union
and the Organization of American States. Each year, the National Model United Nations conference in New York brings over 4,000 students from all over the world to the heart of New York to discuss and propose solutions to the world's most pressing problems. John Jay College and the Center of Student Involvement and Leadership has provided the necessary funds to send the United Nations Student Association to compete in this annual competition since 2001. The United Nations Student Association won its first delegation award in 2003, earning a 3rd place finish. Since 2005, the United Nations Student Association has consistently won delegation awards, including 1st place in 2007, 2nd place in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2011, and 3rd place in 2005, 2009 and 2012. In addition to this success, the United Nations Student Association won its first ever position paper award in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
