WHAT IS SONGKRAN?

Songkran is the Thai New Year festival, traditionally celebrated from April 13th to April 15th. It is a time of renewal, reflection, and community, marked by rituals such as water blessings, paying respect to elders, and acts of kindness.

Water plays a central role, symbolizing cleansing, renewal, and the washing away of the past year to welcome new beginnings.

WHAT IS GOOD FRIDAY?

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ; it is a somber day of fasting with no Mass. In the time before Easter, disciples felt as though they were without a God.

Read through this post to learn how some members of our Beloved Community are observing this day.

It’s NYU One Day! In just 24 hours, YOU can help shape the path and actualize the dreams of countless students, one life-changing interaction at a time.

Global Spiritual Life creates opportunities for students to explore their purpose, ask big questions, and build meaningful connections across communities and spiritual traditions. Last year alone, your support helped us:

✨Serve 6,000 cups of tea to students, faculty, and staff from the GSL Restoration Tea Station, each cup filled with connection.

✨Teach 1,269 students through courses in our minor in Leadership, Spirituality, and Social Innovation, shaping compassionate leaders of the future.

✨Facilitate 31,500 minutes of communal contemplative practice, cultivating a beloved community one breath at a time.

Your gift TODAY helps sustain and expand these critical initiatives for education, connection, and belonging. Give today through the link in our bio!
