A creative content incubator whose mission is to help the next generation design and launch thriving

The NYU Production Lab is is an innovative, collaborative effort across schools and programs at New York University designed to provide experiential learning opportunities and concrete career support to advanced students in the arts and media business studies with an initial emphasis on feature films. The Lab is designed to enhance support to students and new graduates as they develop their featur

e-length films. The Lab will support students as they consider film-related legal issues, music licensing and composition, budgeting and scheduling, marketing and publicity, sales and distribution, and much more, all for the purpose of helping students to launch successful careers in film.

Grateful for everyone who joined us Thursday evening for our Film Festival Strategy event 🎬✨

We were excited to kick off the semester with an insightful panel discussion led by industry-leading programmers Ben Thompson (Tribeca Film Festival) and Karen McMullen (DOC NYC), sharing their expertise on navigating festivals, submissions, and storytelling.

Students then took the stage to deliver powerful 2-minute pitches—making it a night full of learning, confidence, and creative momentum for the semester ahead. 🎥🌟
