Judging by projections made earlier this decade, we should, in 2026, be well on our way to a massive scale-up in corporate fleet electrification. In 2020, McKinsey projected 8 million fleet EVs in the US by 2030. But the reality on the ground looks very different.

So, what happened? โ‰๏ธ

In a recent article for Sustainability Decoded, Sustainability Management faculty member Scott Fisher examines the evolving road to fleet decarbonization, exploring the role of pricing, charging infrastructure, market dynamics, and global trends in shaping corporate electrification progress. ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธโšก๐Ÿš—

New York is moving ahead in clean energy, and Columbiaโ€™s Sustainability Management faculty are leading the charge.

Three of our faulty members have been listed in City & State NYโ€™s โ€œWhoโ€™s Who in Energyโ€ โ€” a list of key stakeholders who are building New Yorkโ€™s Energy Future.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Susanne DesRoches, Senior Vice President, Clean and Resilient Buildings at New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, is translating climate policy into real infrastructure and building upgrades.

๐Ÿ”Œ Rory Christian, Chair and CEO, State Public Service Commission, regulates New Yorkโ€™s electric, gas, water and telecommunications, and challenges industry leaders to rethink whatโ€™s possible.

๐Ÿ™๏ธ Laura Popa, Deputy Commissioner, Bureau of Sustainability at the New York City Department of Buildings, is turning policy into advancements inside the mechanical rooms and boiler rooms across New York and drove the implementation of the landmark Local Law 97.
