The K1 Project

The K1 Project The K1 Project, Center for Nuclear Studies at Columbia University, aims to engage the public in an informed dialogue regarding nuclear technologies.

Nuclear technologies have been the source of interest, innovation, and conflict since their development in the 20th century. Despite the saliency of the nuclear related issues, there has been a lack of informed debate on the subject in the public sphere. The K1 Project was founded in 2011 in order to tackle these issues in a fresh manner. In Fall of 2014, it was officially recognized at a center o

f study with Columbia University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Today, the K1 Project, Center for Nuclear Studies at Columbia University, offers opportunities for college students to get involved in working to engage the public in a dynamic discussion of nuclear prospects. We have many initiatives planned in the future, each with the goal of creating an environment to discuss the difficult questions.
