"When historians will look back at the state of the European Union in 2015, their attention will be caught by a number of very problematic developments .. but before passing a concludi

ng, totally negative judgement on that year, at least a body of particularly well-researched historians will point to a small but shining spotlight .. somewhat west in New York, at Columbia, and that was the European Society at Columbia University.
. to have given birth to a European Society, at that moment, will deserve special mention and is a proof of bold and daring attitude. And therefore, I’m really pleased to be part of your ambitious project with the Transatlantic Conference."

-- Mario Monti, former Prime Minister of Italy (April 9, 2016)

Happy Holidays to all!
A Brexit deal has finally been reached! This is great news for Europeans on both side of the channel.
While the end of the transition period at midnight, 31st December Brussels time will still bring a decline in political and economic relations, this deal will at least order the transition.
CES wishes everyone happy holidays, and we'll be organizing new events and activities for next year.
