Corey Liberman completed his undergraduate degree at UD in the Communication Department, After his days at UD (from 1997-2001), he went on to Rutgers University to earn his PhD in Communication. Congratulations Dr. Liberman!

"The Eastern Communication Association is the organization within which I have received the most collegial guidance and the most opportunities for networked connections. During annual conventions, I have met publishers, coauthors, coeditors, and friends. However, such conventions also provide the context for annual discussions about pedagogical best practices. It is at ECA conferences that I have learned from the best. Back in 1998, I took my very first course in communication (Principles of Communication Theory), taught by Past ECA President John Courtright, at the University of Delaware. I am still not 100% certain what whet my appetite, but I fell in love with the field…and with teaching. Since then, I have spent the past 15+ years developing pedagogical strategies that I hope have worked in the classroom and that have inspired as much in my students as John Courtright inspired in me over two decades ago. I spend countless hours creating and edit-ing teaching lessons, making certain that the *right* material is taught using the *right* and most effective strategies. Like any job, it takes time, patience, endurance, and commitment. However, it is something that I love to do. I am humbled and grateful to be among this year’s Distinguished Teaching Fellows…and want nothing more than to continue learning from those who have helped me develop this craft over the years. Thank you, ECA, for this amazing honor."
