Central Ohio Technical College was established in 1971 to meet the technical education and training needs of students and employers in Licking County, Ohio and the surrounding communities. Believing collegiate technical education to be an integral part of higher education, COTC’s Board of Trustees COTC envisioned a partnership between COTC and Ohio State Newark. An agreement was signed by both sch

ools in 1971, describing the cooperative relationship and specifying a cost-sharing plan by which the costs of operating the Newark campus would be shared by both COTC and Ohio State Newark. Over the past 40+ years, COTC has established three full-service extended campuses in Coshocton County, Knox County, and Pataskala/Western Licking County. Central Ohio Technical College prides itself on providing students with personal attention, state-of-the-art technology labs, and credentialed and experienced faculty. It also plays an important role in the economic development of the local community and the surrounding region due to the thousands of intelligent and eager graduates it infuses into the workforce each year.
