HeLa Essay Contest Deadline is Monday, Sept. 26th!

All first-year students are invited to submit a short essay related to this year's common reader as well as a question for the author. The essay contest winners will be invited to a special limited seating presentation by Rebecca Skloot and a member of the Lacks family.

The Target event has been rescheduled! Thursday, Sept. 15 from 10:30pm - 12:30am. Buses will take students to Target for this Back to School, Exclusive, After-Hours Shopping Event!

9:50 a.m., Sept. 2, 2011--While many members of the University of Delaware community were away from campus during the summer, work continued on construction projects ranging from the new University Bookstore to the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Laboratory.

11:19 a.m., Sept. 1, 2011--Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. will visit the University of Delaware on Friday, Sept. 16. Biden will donate his Senatorial papers and deliver the James R. Soles Lecture on the Constitution and Citizenship.

Would you like to be a Fall 2011 Peer Mentor for the FYE Program? Apply at http://www.fys.udel.edu/content/peer-mentor-application. The deadline is Oct. 22 at 4:00pm.

Please note: All peer mentors are required to take a one credit class that meets for 2 hours a week in the second half of the Spring 2011 semester and must meet a minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 2.8.
