Real Talk on Mental Health in AOT Today!

Today, our Administrative Office Technology students had the opportunity to hear from Mario Fulton II, LCSW, LSSW, who delivered a powerful and insightful presentation on how school, work, and family responsibilities can impact mental health.

He highlighted the everyday mental load students carry and emphasized the importance of recognizing and managing these pressures. Students gained a better understanding of the differences between stress and burnout, along with practical strategies to cope with both effectively.

Most importantly, Mr. Fulton encouraged students to prioritize self-care—reminding them that taking care of their well-being is essential when balancing life’s many demands.

We are incredibly grateful for his time, knowledge, and commitment to equipping our students with tools they can use both now and in the future!

On May 14, TCAT Northwest Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics students had the opportunity to visit Danfoss for an industry tour and a firsthand look at the processes, equipment, and technology used in their facility.

IMM Instructor Aaron Evans and several Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics students attended the visit and were able to tour the plant, learn more about Danfoss operations, and see how industrial maintenance skills are applied in a real-world manufacturing environment. Experiences like this help connect classroom training to the needs of local industry and give our students a better understanding of the career opportunities available in our area.

We would like to thank Danfoss for taking the time to welcome us, provide a facility tour, and share valuable insight into their processes. Partnerships with local industry are an important part of preparing our students for success in the workforce.

Our Administrative Office Technology (AOT) students recently had the opportunity to volunteer for the Food Drive in Covington, TN, as a way to give back to the community and support families in need.

Volunteering teaches the importance of compassion, teamwork, and serving others. Experiences like this remind our students that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life. Giving back not only strengthens our community, but it also helps shape future leaders who understand the value of helping others.

We would like to extend a special thank you to April Allen from Save the Children, and a former AOT graduate, for allowing our students to volunteer and be part of this meaningful experience. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside individuals who are making a positive impact in our community every day.
We encourage everyone to find ways to volunteer and support their local community. Together, we can make a difference!
