Delta Mu Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority Ta Kala Diokomen Kappa Delta Sorority was founded October 23, 1897 at State Female Normal School (now Longwood University), located in Farmville, Virginia.

Kappa Delta has more than 200,000 sisters throughout the world; 137 active collegiate chapters and 504 chartered alumnae chapters nationwide. Kappa Delta's founders were four very different women. They ranged in age from 15 to 23, yet brought a singular sense of purpose to this particular endeavor. Their dream was to create something more lasting than a club -- a sorority! It was to be an entity t

hat would grow beyond their own chapter at State Female Normal School. But they never dreamed that it would grown into an organization of nearly 200,000 women, over 200 chartered chapters and nearly 500 chartered alumnae associations nationwide. Our founders are Lenora Ashmore Blackiston, Julia Gardiner Tyler Wilson, Sara Turner White, and Mary Sommerville Sparks Hendrick. These four women
