WalletHub/Business Insider examined 30-plus indicators — everything from affordability to student life to academic and economic outcomes — and found that Purdue’s hometown is the best place to live out of all college towns in our state.

And not only that, but West Lafayette also ranks fourth among all U.S. small cities that are home to a college or university.

The Purdue Board of Trustees voted Monday morning to approve the appointment of Mitch Daniels to serve as interim president of Purdue University. He succeeds Mung Chiang, who will become president of Northwestern University on July 1.

“President Chiang has led Purdue forward in a host of important ways, and it’s essential that the momentum he has generated be maintained.
