Nu Kappa Epsilon was founded on August 25, 1994 at the College of William and Mary. The founding sisters felt that there was something missing in the music community. Although NKE is not a social sorority nor connected to any professional music organizations, it considers itself a sisterhood, providing a place for those with a genuine love for music to connect and flourish. Each NKE chapter suppor

ts its own music-related philanthropy and promotes the use of music to improve and empower day-to-day life. Since its establishment at the College of William and Mary, Christopher Newport University formed the Beta chapter on March 14, 2005. CNU's chapter is notrious for being a close-knit organization, created for sisters to interact with all others interested in music on campus and beyond, united by common goals.
