The Department of Religious and Theological Studies offers students a deep intellectual engagement with the Christian religious tradition, including our Catholic heritage, as well as a rich, comparative approach to the great religious traditions of the world. To both majors and minors, we offer four optional areas of focus - Christian theology, Scripture, ethics and world religions - allowing them

to choose a path of study that best meets their needs and captures their interests. Beyond the classroom, we sponsor activities that complement our curriculum - from bringing to the University guest speakers who explore the relevant religious issues of the day to sponsoring study abroad courses in destinations such as Belize, Turkey and Israel. Our graduates possess a strong liberal arts foundation for postgraduate work, including the study of religion, history or law, as well as careers in social services, education, business and church-related contexts.

Shalom! This is Julia Morisi and I am currently having a wonderful time studying abroad in Haifa, Israel. I have been here for a week so far, but have already seen much of Haifa: its markets, beaches, hiking trails and the Baha'i Gardens.
The first few pictures are views of Haifa from the University as well as views from the hiking trails. Also included is a picture from the Shabbat dinner on Friday, the Haifa beaches, a shuk (market) in Wadi Nisnas, the Baha'i Gardens, and of course some falafel.

Who's right? The Pope for saying a Christian is someone who tries to build bridges, not walls; or Donald Trump who says the Pope has no right to say whether a person's views make them Christian or not?

Maybe the Pope’s criticism and Mr. Trump’s response will lead to more questioning of Republican candidates who lead with their Christian faith.
